I have just set up a HDHomeRun Prime on my network and am having issues getting MediaPortal to recognize it.

Is this pointing towards the problem or is this useless? In the CableCARD Status section, you will see the current status of the CableCARD in your HDHomeRun PRIME. Now when I change applications in HDHR setup it doesn't seem to make any changes.my strms still work and my pvr systems don't. when originally setting it up I heard selecting xbmc would set up a strms folder with strm files but I never found that, I just created my own. What exactly does HDHR do when you change the application tab and hit apply? I'm wondering if there is something wrong in the program, potentially in windows 8, because that seems to do nothing. In Windows Media Center, go into Tasks > Settings > TV > Guide > Add Missing Channels. If no tuners are shown - see section on HDHomeRun not found (HDHomeRun Software).

am I missing a step or something? Does anyone that has this set up run into similar problems initially? Tuners not found by DVR software (Windows): Check 1: HDHomeRun Setup Run HDHomeRun Setup. XBMC still works great, playing all the channels flawlessly. I went into hdhomerun setup and changed the application to either platform and hit apply but that seemed to make absolutely 0 difference. I can get see the tuners, but not grab any channels. I tried mediaportal then because i thought maybe it was nextpvr, but the exact same problem occurred. I tried to set up NextPVR first and it sees both my tuners (just a single antenna getting over-the-air here in US) but when i click setup device and scan for channels nothing is found. I tried setting up MediaPortal and NextPVR but failed.

Does anyone use a PVR backend for hdhomerun that could give me some tips to getting it set up? I have a windows 8.1 machine in the living room that I use xbmc on and right now I have strms and EPG data going into PseudoTV Live so I can see all my channels, what's on, and tune to them easily, but I'd really like to be able to set recordings for some shows that I'd like to watch, but don't want to downoad/keep in my xbmc library and I'd love to be able to rewind live tv for things like sports.
